New PEX water lines run through open wall studs during a repipe

Polybutylene supply pipe was installed widely across the Valley between 1978 and 1995, which puts most of Spring Valley, large parts of Green Valley, and a good deal of the west side squarely in the window. It shows up as grey flexible pipe, usually at the water heater or under a sink where a stub is visible.

The failure pattern is consistent and it is not the pipe itself — it is the acetal fittings, which become brittle and crack. That happens inside a wall, without warning, often while nobody is home. A repipe done on your schedule costs a fraction of a repipe done around water damage remediation and an insurance adjuster.

We repipe in PEX or copper depending on the house and what you want. A typical single-storey Valley home takes two to four days. We keep the water on overnight so you can stay in the house, cut access neatly rather than opening whole walls, and patch the drywall behind us.

Repiping & Polybutylene Replacement questions

How do I know if I have polybutylene?
Look for grey flexible pipe roughly half to one inch across, usually near the water heater or under a sink. If you are unsure, send us a photo and we will tell you for free.
How long does a repipe take?
Two to four days for a typical single-storey Valley home, including drywall patching. You can stay in the house — we keep the water on overnight.
PEX or copper?
PEX handles this water well, costs less, and installs with fewer joints to fail. Copper lasts longer where it is exposed and some owners simply prefer it. We will price both.
